The NFL franchise released a comment Wednesday night indicating they are aware of domestic violence allegations made public in online accounts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver the athlete and were in contact with the league office.
The organization did not mention Rice specifically in their statement and stated they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

The woman, who also did not mention the athlete directly, posted a set of images on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. She stated the person involved was the father of her children, and it is known she has kids with Rice, whom the team selected in the 2023 draft.
No official complaints were available in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
The receiver was absent for the first six games of this season due to an NFL suspension for his role in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that left several individuals injured. Rice was sentenced a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to felony charges.
On the field, he concluded the season with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City went with a losing record and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
